About the position

The Digital Media Designer will be a key member of the Michigan House Democratic Caucus communications team, responsible for creating multimedia and digital content that promotes the caucus and its members. This role involves maintaining the caucus brand, developing outreach campaigns across various channels, and collaborating with a team of designers, videographers, and writers to enhance the digital experience for constituents. The position requires a blend of creativity and technical skills to effectively communicate the values and priorities of the Michigan House Democrats.

Responsibilities

• Create multimedia and digital content to support the Democratic Caucus and its members.
• Develop outreach campaigns across multiple channels including websites, social media, and email.
• Collaborate with the web team to ensure an accessible user experience.
• Innovate and maintain the visual identity of the House Democratic Caucus branding.
• Work with the Creative Team to set standards for digital outreach materials.
• Establish and strengthen relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain an organized file archive for digital assets.

Requirements

• Minimum of three to five years of digital media design experience.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience in producing video, graphic, social, and interactive content.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with WordPress.
• Ability to create accessible content.
• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, digital media, marketing, or related field.
• Understanding of video and social media marketing.
• Prior experience in political or public affairs campaigns.
