About the position

The Digital Media Director for WFXT TV Boston is a pivotal role responsible for driving digital revenue growth through collaboration with local sellers and the development of new direct digital advertising clients in the local market. This position requires a strategic mindset to identify, implement, and accelerate digital sales initiatives that meet and exceed revenue goals. The Digital Media Director will work closely with the local sales team, sales management, market management, and the CMG Local Solutions team to provide customized digital marketing solutions that address unique business needs, leveraging in-depth analytics and a comprehensive portfolio of media properties. As the subject matter expert in CMG Local Solutions' suite of digital advertising products, the Digital Media Director will focus on driving digital revenue growth through proficiency in various digital advertising products, including targeted display, digital video (OTT, streaming, long-form, and short-form), digital audio, sponsorships, SEM, SEO/CRO, website development, paid social, and lead generation. The role demands expertise in the digital advertising ecosystem, including programmatic buying, supply and demand-side platforms, multi-touch attribution, Google Analytics, and the latest industry trends. The individual in this role will be responsible for the retainment, development, and growth of current CMG clients while also seeking to develop new digital advertising clients. This includes establishing and executing a revenue strategy that maximizes assets and revenue potential, uncovering high-potential digital revenue growth opportunities, and guiding sales teams in developing advertising campaigns tailored to advertiser needs across multiple media platforms. The Digital Media Director will also be tasked with reporting on digital sales revenue activity, facilitating client meetings, and sharing best practices to enhance customer ROI and sustain local digital advertising revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and execute a revenue strategy that maximizes assets and revenue potential.
  • Uncover high-potential digital revenue growth opportunities and develop joint execution plans with local sales management.
  • Guide sales teams to develop advertising campaigns designed around advertiser needs and objectives across multiple media platforms.
  • Develop digital media strategies, product mixes, digital sales efforts, and revenue generation in collaboration with CMG local market sales team and sales managers.
  • Protect, retain, and grow existing CMG digital advertising clients.
  • Develop advertising campaigns that drive revenue while ensuring return on investment for advertisers.
  • Lead and collaborate effectively with peers while reporting to the Sr Director of Digital Sales.
  • Report on digital sales revenue activity, strategies, and goals to ensure revenue and profitability achievement.
  • Accurately forecast and report on digital revenue attainment.
  • Facilitate group presentations and face-to-face client sales calls with key advertising clients and verticals.
  • Develop, facilitate, and host client-facing meetings, webinars, and video conference calls to sell and educate CMG clients and prospective advertisers.
  • Identify and share best practices to develop programs and solutions that drive customer ROI for increased and sustained local digital advertising revenue.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, computer sciences or related field.
  • Strong (5+ years) experience in Digital Sales Management.
  • Demonstrated success in digital and integrated sales, internal/external customer satisfaction, and territory management.
  • Successful background in growing advertising accounts and prospecting for new digital advertising verticals and strategies.
  • Experience working with both large and small advertising agencies and direct clients.
  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently, taking priorities from local markets to accomplish goals.
  • Project Management skills with proven ability to take a concept from ideation to development to implementation.
  • Demonstrated successful selling and management of digital advertising solutions to exceed goals.
  • Demonstrated business acumen with exceptional knowledge of marketing, sales, and new business development.
  • Experience with needs assessment, digital sales training programs, business development, implementation, and facilitation.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and command in large group settings.
  • Strong command in front of large groups or video audiences, with the gravitas to be a credible and dynamic sales leader in the digital space.
  • Outstanding customer service skills with a keen ability to proactively anticipate and provide solutions for customer needs.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Active and strong knowledge of all forms of social media.
  • IAB Digital Media Sales Certification (IAB DMSC) required.
  • Google AdWords Certification required.
