About the position

The Digital Media Producer at Gies College of Business is responsible for creating high-quality media content that translates faculty expertise and course objectives into engaging instructional videos for online education. This role involves collaboration with faculty, Learning Designers, and Graphics & Motion Designers, overseeing projects from inception to completion, and mentoring junior staff. The position requires adherence to branding and accessibility standards while producing a variety of media content, including promotional and training videos.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate instructional media design projects from inception to completion, maintaining media files and project tracking documents.
  • Collaborate with faculty on storyboards, scripts, and planning documents to integrate online learning content effectively.
  • Serve as lead producer on course development and redesign projects, as well as specialized video projects.
  • Provide consultation and support to faculty on content creation and video production techniques.
  • Supervise and mentor hourly Digital Media staff and junior producers, conducting regular one-on-one meetings.
  • Lead the development of internal documentation and faculty-facing resources related to media production processes.
  • Follow production schedules and provide regular updates to supervisors regarding project progress.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education, educational psychology, humanities, media production, or a closely related field, or a Baccalaureate degree with additional experience.
  • Six months of experience in professional writing, audiovisual design, educational programming, or related fields, or eighteen months with a Baccalaureate degree.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency with non-linear video editing software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's or terminal degree in media production or a related field.
  • Experience in higher education media development.
  • Experience with XML files for project management between editing software.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience in a media production environment.
  • Adobe Certified Professional in Digital Video Using Adobe Premiere Pro.
