About the position

The Digital Media Specialist at MFA Oil Company plays a crucial role in designing and developing a variety of digital media formats, including podcasts and videos, aimed at supporting employee development and various company-wide projects. This position is responsible for producing high-quality digital media materials that cater to all divisions of the company. The specialist will engage in tasks such as reviewing course content, developing scripts, capturing video and audio, and graphic design to enhance the learning experience of employees. In this role, the Digital Media Specialist will produce a range of digital media, including podcasts, videos, audio recordings, photographs, and graphics for assigned projects. They will be tasked with creating, recording, and editing digital media for online transmission, ensuring that all media performs as expected and resolving any issues that may arise. The specialist will also be responsible for sourcing relevant resources, including equipment, content, and guests, to support the production process. Collaboration is key in this position, as the specialist will work closely with internal stakeholders to brainstorm and identify opportunities for incorporating multimedia and video components into various projects. They will attend corporate meetings, training sessions, and events to capture photographs and video recordings, providing essential visual content for the company. Additionally, the specialist will offer copy editing support for eLearning course development and produce graphic design materials for various projects across the organization. The Digital Media Specialist will also contribute to the learning management system (LMS) by creating videos, courses, and other training tools. Regular meetings with division managers will be held to understand the training needs of employees, particularly in relation to changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and technologies. The specialist will develop training materials based on these discussions and proactively review and update existing training materials to ensure they remain relevant and effective. To succeed in this role, the Digital Media Specialist must stay informed about the latest digital communication software, design technology, and digital media trends. They will frequently communicate project progress with the learning development manager, training team, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle. Adherence to company policies and procedures is expected, and while this job description outlines the primary duties, the specialist may be required to perform additional tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Produce digital media (podcasts, video, audio, photo, graphic) for assigned projects
  • Create, record, and edit digital media for online transmission; ensure media perform as expected, resolving any issues
  • Source all relevant resources, including equipment, content, and guests
  • Conceptualize, create, and prepare media of different styles that support all divisions of MFA Oil Company
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ideate on digital asset creations and identify opportunities to incorporate multimedia and video components
  • Attend corporate meetings, training, and events to capture photographs and video recordings
  • Provide copy editing support for learning team peer(s) as part of eLearning course development
  • Produce graphic design materials leveraged for variety of projects across the company
  • Design visually impactful and memorable digital experiences that drive employee learning and engagement
  • Contribute to the learning management system (LMS) with videos, courses, and other training tools
  • Meet regularly with division managers to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training for employees to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and technologies and develop the training materials requested
  • Develop project scripts by researching topics and/or identifying subject matter expert resources for assigned projects
  • Proactively review and update previously created training materials to ensure they are current and meet the needs of internal clients
  • Perform evaluation and analysis of projects to inform future project development
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the latest digital communication software, design technology, and digital media trends
  • Frequently communicate the progress of projects, processes, and tools with learning development manager, learning/training team, and stakeholders
  • Follow posted work schedule and adhere to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours worked

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, videography/photography, communication, graphic design, multimedia, or related field OR 4 years of previous work experience in digital media production
  • Demonstrated experience in videography, motion graphics, graphic design, illustration, UI/UX, etc.
  • Experience with graphic and web production tools including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with video/audio equipment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong eye for visual and professional appeal, imparting creativity to build engaging materials
  • Ability to act independently to achieve needed results
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and implement new and complex ideas, relay those concepts to others, and apply appropriately
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to timelines
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate with customers, coworkers, and supervisors
  • Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
  • Valid driver's license
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
