About the position

The Digital Media Specialist position at Oklahoma State University (OSU) focuses on providing digital media communications support for various accessibility programs. The role involves optimizing the digital presence of OSU Accessibility Programs to meet federal and state accessibility standards. The position offers opportunities for hybrid or remote work after a successful initial review, contingent upon university policies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new and edit/migrate existing website content and webpages.
  • Develop written content for blogs and Success Stories.
  • Coordinate social media efforts and maintain a complete content calendar with the Social Media Intern.
  • Monitor web and email analytics, present monthly reports to the supervisor, and make recommendations based on data.
  • Create and execute monthly and as-needed email campaigns.
  • Create and maintain templates and resources for web projects.
  • Proofread digital and print media deliverables.
  • Use Asana project management software to track tasks and project milestones.
  • Use Microsoft Teams for communication and project file management.
  • Demonstrate self-direction, creativity, and strategic thinking in showcasing Oklahoma ABLE Tech and related programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Agricultural Communications, Marketing, Web Development, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in copywriting, design, marketing, or communications with proficiency in web design or social media marketing.
  • Demonstrated work experience in creating engaging advertising, social media, email marketing, and other digital marketing content.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Excellence in service principles, including accountability, timely communication, and quality results.

Nice-to-haves

  • Three or more years of experience in marketing, advertising, social media, web design, or related fields.
  • Intermediate experience in web design using a content management system (CMS).
  • Experience in photography and video creation for web, email, and social media.
  • Experience creating digitally accessible content.
  • Experience with HTML and CSS.
