About the position

The Digital Media Teacher for grades 9-12 is responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans that align with the district's curriculum while accommodating diverse student learning styles. This role involves teaching digital media concepts, managing classroom behavior, evaluating student progress, and collaborating with other staff to support student needs. The teacher will also engage with the community and maintain accurate records as required by the school district.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements.
• Prepare lessons that accommodate different student learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines and school policies.
• Establish efficient classroom management procedures.
• Maintain standards of pupil behavior and evaluate student progress.
• Provide a variety of learning experiences using different media and methods.
• Identify pupil needs and collaborate with other staff to address health and learning problems.
• Counsel students and parents before and after school.
• Interpret educational programs to the community through activities like open house and PTA meetings.
• Plan and coordinate the work of aides and student teachers when applicable.
• Participate in the evaluation system development with the principal.
• Keep accurate records of student information and required documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teacher certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject level assigned.
• Demonstrated general knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to follow specific instructions with little or no previous experience.
• Flexibility to cope with challenges in a rapidly changing environment.
• Willingness to stay current with developments in the profession.
