About the position

The Digital Media Teacher at Thomas Jefferson Middle School is responsible for providing instruction in digital media to students, utilizing effective teaching strategies and principles of human development. The role involves preparing educational materials, implementing school policies, and fostering positive relationships with students, staff, and the community to support academic and personal growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in digital media to students in the assigned grade/subject.
• Prepare materials needed to assist students in their learning.
• Implement policies, procedures, and mandates as required by the school and district.
• Prepare and submit requested reports and plans accurately and on time.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills.
• Engage in school, district, and department activities and meetings.
• Collaborate with other staff including administration, counseling, and fellow teachers.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, district policies, and site needs in instruction.
• Work with parents and community members to address the instructional needs of students.
• Foster positive relationships between students, staff, and community members.
• Supervise students to ensure their safety during school activities.
• Monitor student achievement and adjust instruction based on student data.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in education or related field.
• Graduate level coursework in education is preferred.
• Completion of student teaching experience is required.
• Valid California Teaching Credential for the subject area assigned.
