About the position

The Digital Sales Strategist at APG Media of Defiance, Ohio, is a pivotal role designed for a self-starter who is energetic, passionate, and experienced in digital sales. This position primarily focuses on executing best-in-class strategic media plans that align with client objectives, ultimately driving high retention rates and fostering new business growth. The Digital Sales Strategist will manage their own book of business while collaborating closely with various teams, including sales, strategic marketing, sales operations, research, product, editorial, digital, and activation. This collaboration ensures that campaigns and plans are not only strategically developed but also executed, optimized, and measured effectively. The role encompasses a comprehensive approach to managing digital media campaigns, which includes overseeing all pre- and post-sale processes related to media. This involves meticulous plan development, order entry, traffic management, and billing. The Digital Sales Strategist will also be responsible for campaign execution, optimization, and reporting, ensuring that all aspects of the digital media campaigns are handled with precision. Additionally, the strategist will work with local sales teams to provide strategic planning support across all media channels, from pre-sale to post-sale, and will participate in internal brainstorming sessions to foster innovative ideas and solutions. A key aspect of this role is the ability to analyze competitive activity in the marketplace and report findings to the APG Ohio Digital Director, contributing to regional and national initiatives, sales objectives, and growth opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative and analytical skills, with a solid understanding of web analytics and statistical analysis, enabling them to manage the digital campaign process effectively from inception to optimization based on analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Manage your own book of business.
  • Handle campaign execution, optimization, and reporting of digital media campaigns.
  • Collaborate with partners and sales representatives on proposal development and presentations.
  • Work closely with the ad ops team to review and analyze campaign results.
  • Provide strategic planning support across all media channels from pre-sale to post-sale.
  • Achieve a thorough understanding of all internal systems to respond to client requests.
  • Participate in internal brainstorming sessions.
  • Analyze competitive activity in the marketplace.
  • Report to and work closely with APG Ohio Digital Director on all regional and national initiatives, sales objectives, and growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 5 years minimum digital media sales experience.
  • Minimum three years of digital media sales experience at a publisher and/or ad agency.
  • Experience responding to media RFPs from advertising agencies and/or media clients.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with good knowledge of web analytics and statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively managing the digital campaign process from plan creation to campaign optimization based on analytics.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with revolving deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google suite of products.
