About the position

The Multi-Skilled Journalist (MSJ) at KIDY/KXVA-TV is responsible for delivering impactful news coverage in a fast-paced environment. This role involves live reporting, content creation for various platforms, and engaging with the community to uncover stories that matter. The MSJ will also have opportunities for occasional anchoring, showcasing their skills both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.

Responsibilities

• Bring stories to life with daily live segments that capture the pulse of Abilene.
• Craft original, engaging stories for all FOX West Texas platforms including on-air, digital, and streaming.
• Utilize social media to share breaking news, engage with viewers, and promote our stories in real time.
• Develop content tailored for over-the-top (OTT) platforms, reaching audiences wherever they consume news.
• Stay on top of rapidly developing stories, providing accurate updates and insights as events unfold.
• Work seamlessly with our San Angelo newsroom, ensuring content is synchronized across broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms.
• Keep your finger on the pulse of local and national trends to identify stories that resonate with our viewers.

• Experienced in producing clean, compelling copy under tight deadlines.
• A strategic thinker with strong news judgment, ready to pivot and adapt as the news cycle evolves.
