The Banking Platform Services team will serve as the foundational platform for various business function microservices, enabling channel and core agnostic functionality across FIS. This initiative is a centerpiece of our digital transformation, aimed at building next-generation and future-ready platforms. In the role of Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will focus on ensuring the scalability, high availability, performance, stability, and reliability of our software applications. You will be responsible for building automations that simplify operations and processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to create proactive engineering mechanisms, and ensuring a positive end-user experience. An SRE with a solid understanding of products and their interdependencies, combined with pragmatic operational and software development skills, will apply sound engineering principles, operational discipline, and mature automation to our operating environments and codebase. Your responsibilities will include building software solutions and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications, partnering with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures, and participating in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning. You will also work to improve the reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions, build monitoring systems that alert on symptoms rather than outages, and run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health. Additionally, you will measure and optimize system performance, provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large, distributed software applications, and gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding. Your proactive approach will help spot problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks, ensuring that we deliver a reliable, scalable, secure, and performant platform.
