About the position

The Digital Operations Specialist (DOS) at the FBI plays a crucial role in supporting investigative teams by leveraging their expertise in technology and data platforms to identify, seize, and analyze digital evidence. This position requires a strong understanding of digital operations and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders to provide analytical support and training.

Responsibilities

• Plan and complete assignments while adhering to established instructions, policies, practices, and procedures.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to exchange information and provide recommendations.
• Communicate with others to provide training and prepare reports and briefings.
• Utilize computer-related hardware and software to collect, examine, preserve, and duplicate digital evidence while adhering to legal authorities and guidelines.
• Provide onsite technical guidance as a Subject Matter Expert by troubleshooting errors and problems to retrieve data/digital evidence.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must have (or be able to obtain) a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to obtain a Top Secret-SCI clearance.
• For GS 09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS 07 level.
• For GS 11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS 09 level.
• For GS 12: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS 11 level.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with digital evidence and technical data analysis.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
