The Digital Portrait Editor/Floater Photographer at Rebecca Rose Fine Portraits plays a crucial role in supporting both the editing and photography departments. This position primarily focuses on editing high-resolution portrait images while also being available to cover photography sessions as needed. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability, exceptional customer service skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality artwork that reflects the studio's brand and artistic vision.

Responsibilities

  • Edit, retouch, and color-correct high-resolution portrait images using advanced techniques in Photoshop and Lightroom.
  • Adjust colors, tones, and lighting to match the desired mood and aesthetic of each portrait.
  • Remove or retouch unwanted elements in the background, clothing, or accessories, ensuring a seamless finish.
  • Organize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects to maintain timely and efficient workflows.
  • Conduct quality checks on all edited images to ensure they meet company standards before final delivery.
  • Collaborate with team members to produce consistent and high-quality galleries, maintaining open communication.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in high-end photography and retouching.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and other relevant editing software.
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially in skin tone, lighting, and texture.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong understanding of color theory, composition, and visual storytelling in portraiture.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating high-level retouching and editing work, preferably in portrait photography.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications or coursework in photo retouching, digital art, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of techniques specific to classic and fine-art portrait styles, such as dodge and burn, frequency separation, and natural-looking enhancements.
