About the position

We are looking for an energetic and experienced Product Designer with a passion for creating simple, beautiful solutions to complex problems. The ideal candidate will obsess over understanding the customer and their context, enjoy creating user flows and prototypes to explore concepts, and tell the story behind their design. Attention to detail is crucial, as the designer will love polishing their work until it shines. The candidate should be keenly aware of the latest trends in modern web and mobile application design and understand how to balance innovation with consistency. The responsibilities of this role include designing digital user experiences across mobile and web solutions that target specific customer personas and user stories. The designer will create wireframes, user flows, and prototypes to communicate and iterate toward design solutions. They will utilize design system component libraries to create consistent and efficient interfaces and will interact daily with development teams during their scrum activities. Active participation in a larger design team is expected, where sharing and critiquing designs with peers is encouraged. Collaboration with digital product owners and the digital agile team to create and evolve designs is also a key aspect of the role. Additionally, the designer will be an active participant in user research, assist with usability testing, and help uphold design standards across all digital products and channels. Analyzing user feedback and analytics to iterate and enhance the user experience is a critical part of the job.

Responsibilities

• Design digital user experiences across mobile and web solutions targeting specific customer personas and user stories
• Create wireframes, user flows and prototypes to communicate and iterate toward design solutions
• Use design system component libraries to create consistent, efficient interfaces
• Interact daily with development teams in their scrum activities
• Active participation in a larger design team sharing and critiquing designs with peers
• Active collaboration with digital product owners and digital agile team to create and evolve designs
• Active participant in user research
• Assist with usability testing
• Help uphold design standards across all digital products and channels
• Analyze user feedback and analytics to iterate to enhance the user experience.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience as a digital/mobile user experience designer, interactive designer or similar role
• Bachelor's degree required
• In lieu of bachelor's degree, will also consider 2-year associates degree in Computer Science, IT, Design, or Business or strong commensurate equivalent experience
• A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions for web and mobile applications
• Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills with an ability to rationalize and articulate the decisions that led to your designs
• Strong diplomatic and communication skills, including the ability to articulate the business value of a good design
• Strong conceptualization and wireframing ability
• Experience working in an agile team environment as well as working directly with developers for implementation of designs and prototypes
• A track record and passion for leveraging user centered design approach into solutions
• Positive attitude
• Ability to work and thrive in a fast paced environment
• Familiar with designing across multiple devices and platforms

Nice-to-haves

• Desired experience in building UI functional prototypes in Kony Fabric
• Portfolio which demonstrates digital design experience with focus on financial services
• Desired financial or similar industry experience
