About the position

The Product Owner at Columbia Sportswear plays a crucial role in translating the product vision into actionable features and strategies. This position is responsible for leading the development process, ensuring that products align with business goals and consumer needs. The Product Owner will utilize market knowledge to create innovative solutions, manage product roadmaps, and facilitate discussions with stakeholders to drive product success.

Responsibilities

  • Translate general product vision into specific product features and implement short-term planning through regular road mapping.
  • Prepare and lead refinements and planning within the team.
  • Provide guidance in assessing product opportunities and risks, increasing the product's business value in alignment with overall business strategy.
  • Lead and serve as the single point of contact for a product category, ensuring product vision and strategies are realized.
  • Utilize extensive market knowledge to create innovative solutions for the product category.
  • Organize workshops with product users to discover and validate hypotheses and develop optimal solutions.
  • Use a data-driven approach to redefine priorities of the product category and lead discussions with stakeholders for alignment.
  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs between customer experience, performance, and operational support.
  • Create and drive the product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities for a given product category.
  • Lead larger scale initiatives, ensuring deliverables are on time, on budget, and meet business needs.
  • Lead project change management and deliver change mitigation requirements to the business.
  • Identify documentation needs and guide the creation of business process flows, use cases diagrams, user journey mapping, and training documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, applicable certification, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in product management or related fields.
  • Strong competency with tools, systems, or procedures required for the job.
  • Previous product experience managing eCommerce Checkout and Payment.
  • Experience with eCommerce platforms (e.g., Hybris, ATG, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud) is a plus.
  • Experience transforming from siloed shopping experience to an Omni-Channel.
  • Ability to synthesize data and problem-solve to influence business decisions and ensure effective outcomes.
  • Scrum Master Certification is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a functional consultant in retail/eCommerce.
  • Skilled in facilitating discussions and guiding solution development from design to completion.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
