About the position

The Digital Product Manager at Allstate is a pivotal role responsible for defining, delivering, and managing the lifecycle of products within the company's expanding portfolio, specifically focusing on the Reinsurance sector. This position requires a strategic mindset to create and execute product strategies that align with the goals of Allstate's Specialty Operations Division, which encompasses Assumed and Ceded Reinsurance, Catastrophes, and Runoff business. The Digital Product Manager will engage in product discovery, manage product roadmaps, and prioritize backlogs to maximize enterprise value and ensure that products meet customer needs effectively. In this role, the Digital Product Manager will work closely with key stakeholders and partners to define and execute go-to-market strategies and communication plans for their products. A significant part of the job involves engaging with current and potential customers to gather insights and validate product assumptions through discovery and testing activities. The manager will also be responsible for breaking down complex problems into manageable tasks, creating a prioritized backlog for the Product Team, and providing timely feedback on development iterations. Additionally, the Digital Product Manager will define and manage metrics to measure the success of product initiatives, ensuring that the overall product strategy is informed by data-driven insights. This role is crucial for driving innovation and ensuring that Allstate remains at the forefront of the insurance industry by leveraging technology and customer feedback to enhance product offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Create, drive, and execute future product strategy for Allstate's Specialty Operations Division, including Assumed and Ceded Reinsurance, Catastrophes, and Runoff business
  • Drive product roadmap by investing significant time with current and potential customers to understand their needs
  • Engage in discovery & framing and test & learn activities to quickly validate assumptions and product direction
  • Decompose complex problems into smaller manageable tasks by creating and prioritizing a backlog for the Product Team
  • Manage the product backlog, create an effective vision and provide timely stakeholder feedback on development iterations
  • Define and manage metrics to measure the success of your efforts and to inform the overall product strategy

Requirements

  • 7+ years of technical and/or digital product management experience preferred
  • 4-year bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience with Reinsurance processes, procedures, and technology preferred
  • Understanding of and experience working with agile tools for managing EPICs, stories, and outcomes in a technology development environment
  • Entrepreneurial with a strong inclination towards action, preferably with experience in application and platform modernization
  • Clear passion for topics of technology products and an ability to identify possibilities to innovate in our product space
  • Experience operating in an environment driven by KPIs and outcomes where you had the accountability to determine the best course of action to meet your goals
  • Proficient at breaking down work for iterative and incremental delivery
  • Advanced ability to communicate complex and innovative concepts to product development teams and stakeholders with proven experience in data-driven decision making
  • Expert at stakeholder management and transparent communication
  • Ability to be self-directed and to proactively anticipate problems and seek opportunities
