About the position

New Balance is currently seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial thinker to join the DTC Digital Product Management team as a Digital Product Manager. This individual will play a critical role in driving our digital ambition. This person will collaborate with global business leaders to create and execute the digital roadmaps that drive the growth of New Balance's Direct to Consumer business through the implementation of new technology. The Digital Product Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining a business proposal that makes a compelling case for continued investment into products. They will champion the product vision, strategy, and roadmap product goals and objectives, leading the ideation, development, and launch of Minimum Viable Products and scaling them when validated. The role requires managing the entire product life cycle from discovery through creation and validation to production and repeat. The Digital Product Manager will become a resident expert in our software solutions, asking the right questions to fully understand the what and the why. They will break down the product vision into user stories, create storyboards, write specifications, prioritize features, build consensus, and coordinate product schedules with a team of engineers and designers. Additionally, they will define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products, facilitate communication throughout the development process between internal stakeholders and customers, and coordinate strong working relations with various internal stakeholder groups, including IT, Engineering, and Legal. The individual will also need to keep a finger on the pulse of the competition and develop strategies and tactics to reduce threats while developing organizational talent and team skillsets.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and build strong working relations with various internal stakeholder groups, including IT, Engineering, and Legal.
  • Know why we are winning and losing in the market, and drive changes to our product and processes to create improvement.
  • Keep a finger on the pulse of our competition, and develop strategies and tactics to reduce the threat.
  • Develop organizational talent and develop team skillsets.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in business or a technical field.
  • Master's degree (MBA is a plus).
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Excellent product judgment with an understanding of user experience.
  • Appreciation for detail and ability to make pragmatic decisions.
  • Strategic insight into the industry and ability to predict behavior of key players.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and methodologies.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to guide others.
  • Terrific communication skills with a high signal-to-noise ratio.
  • Creativity in problem-solving.
  • Ability to write clear and effective UI strings, marketing copy, or press releases.
  • Understanding of evaluating business needs and building a case for products.
  • Ability to deliver great customer experiences in a lean/agile product development environment.
  • Multi-channel and multi-platform savvy.
