As a Digital Product Senior Manager, you will lead the development of the Product Cost Thread (PCT), a crucial initiative aimed at capturing supplier commodity details. This role is pivotal in optimizing costs through better data in negotiations, enhancing process efficiency with semi-automated adjustments, and providing insightful forecasting based on simulations. You will collaborate with various stakeholders across the enterprise to promote and position the PCT effectively, ensuring that Caterpillar remains at the forefront of innovation and efficiency in our operations. Your responsibilities will include prioritizing issues and enhancements, monitoring PCT progress, and executing with the data, technology, and analytics teams to develop and deploy new features on schedule. You will also be responsible for leading multiple products or releases, managing conflicts between business unit teams, and steering the gathering and prioritization of ideas for new products or versions of existing products. Your expertise in digital product management and technical knowledge will be essential in driving functional enhancements and anticipating new opportunities and needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead prioritization of issues, enhancements, and new features for the Product Cost Thread (PCT).
  • Monitor and report on PCT progress.
  • Execute with data/technology/analytics team and process leads to develop and deploy new features and releases on schedule.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the enterprise to position and promote PCT.
  • Manage multiple products or releases of a critical product.
  • Resolve conflicts between business unit teams.
  • Gather, summarize, and prioritize ideas for new products or new versions of existing products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • In-depth experience managing product change requests from all sources.
  • Expertise in technical and infrastructure components of digital products.
  • Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication skills, adapting documents and presentations for the intended audience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in digital product management and strategy development.
  • Familiarity with competitive products and market analysis.
  • Ability to anticipate special issues and considerations for effective decision-making during crises.
