About the position

The Digital Publishing and Repository Librarian at IU Indianapolis University Library is a tenure-track position responsible for managing the institutional repository and open journal publishing program. This role supports researchers by promoting open dissemination of research and scholarly communication within higher education. The librarian will collaborate with colleagues in the Center for Digital Scholarship to foster a culture of open access knowledge practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the library's coordinator for the institutional repository and open access journal publishing program
• Support compliance with the IU Indianapolis Open Access Policy
• Act as the library's resource person for questions related to the institutional repository, open journals, and open routes for research dissemination
• Collaborate with Center librarians and staff on projects and initiatives that advance open access to knowledge created by IU Indianapolis researchers
• Support the shared work of the Center

Requirements

• Master's degree from an ALA-accredited Library/Information Science program or an equivalent degree
• Experience with digital publishing tools (e.g., DSpace, OJS)
• Broad knowledge of scholarly communication issues within higher education
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
• Demonstrated ability to solve emerging and sometimes ambiguous problems
• Commitment to open knowledge, open access, or open research practices

Nice-to-haves

• Experience collaborating with faculty and other campus stakeholders
• Understanding of issues associated with intellectual property and copyright in an academic setting
