About the position
The Digital Sales Advisor at The J.R. Simplot Company plays a crucial role in providing technical support to the SGS Crop Advisors and sales staff, focusing on maximizing the potential of Precision Agriculture. This position involves integrating IT advancements into the sales force, offering training in Ag Technology, and maintaining Precision Ag equipment to meet customer needs effectively. The role supports the Eastern Idaho Territory, requiring the incumbent to either reside in or relocate to the area.
Responsibilities
- Providing technical support to SGS Crop Advisors and support staff on Precision Ag Technology.
- Integrating IT advances into SGS sales force to assist in providing solutions to customer needs for products and services.
- Training and administering the SmartFarm Platform, including scouting, trapping, and sampling activities.
- Generating prescription maps, field mapping, variable rate irrigation prescriptions, yield analysis, and boundary creation.
- Making recommendations for zone creation and geo-spatial analysis.
- Performing on-farm field trials, interpreting satellite imagery, and collecting and analyzing yield information.
- Supporting variable rate applications for fertilizer and seed and managing irrigation sensor data.
- Maintaining Precision Ag equipment and making recommendations to customers regarding equipment.
- Designing and collecting test plot data and driving adoption of sales enablement tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a 4-year college or university, preferably in agronomy or computer science.
- 5+ years of relevant experience and/or training.
- Strong computer background and skills.
- Some agronomic experience is required.
- 3 years of related experience or training.
Nice-to-haves
- CCA certification preferred.
