About the position

As a key member of the team at Alfa Laval, you will provide technical operational support to customers through the Digital Solution Center. This hybrid role involves executing services from the digital service catalog, troubleshooting equipment issues, and contributing to the overall success and growth of the organization. You will engage in remote commissioning, installation inspections, and condition monitoring, while also preparing service reports and training customers on equipment operation.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and provide technical support to customers, including remote commissioning, installation inspection, testing, repairing, and maintaining products, modules, and systems.
  • Help customers identify needs and perform remote troubleshooting and analysis of equipment problems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer equipment technical problems remotely.
  • Monitor connected equipment and proactively support customers, preparing monthly status reports.
  • Receive training and deploy a customer-centric experience, providing feedback to the service sales team.
  • Prepare service reports with observations and recommendations based on digital services provided to customers.
  • Support field service technicians performing field service at customer sites.
  • Communicate equipment-related changes and technical upgrades to customers.
  • Train customers on product and operation of equipment remotely.
  • Report unsafe practices and incidents, working towards continuous improvement.
  • Work with the marketing team to promote Digital Services.
  • Provide proactive service advice to customers relating to the 360 service portfolio.
  • Identify upgrade opportunities and communicate them to the sales organization.
  • Be available to work weekends on a rolling schedule if required.
  • Travel up to 25% for training and team meetings.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor's/Associates degree in a technical field is a plus.
  • 2+ years of field service or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, heat transfer, and fluid equipment is a plus.
  • Experience with control panels commissioning and automation/electrical troubleshooting.
  • Working experience with process instrumentation, such as flow, pressure, and temperature sensors.
  • Familiarity with VFD drives operation and commissioning/troubleshooting of VFDs.
  • Knowledge of different types of PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, and B&R) and their communication protocols.
  • Working experience with different types of motors and starters.
  • Personal drive and strong commitment to achieve assigned goals.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
