Mount St. Mary's University is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Digital Services Librarian who will develop, coordinate, and deliver information literacy instruction and manage digital resources to support the university community's academic and research needs. This dual role requires a dynamic and flexible individual with expertise in both the instructional and technical aspects of librarianship. The Digital Services Librarian will manage the library's integrated library system, website, and reference platforms, ensuring that digital resource collections are accessible and effectively utilized by students and faculty. In this role, the librarian will be responsible for managing and providing access to digital resource collections, including database products, licenses, and user authentication software. They will also oversee technical data and account integrity for the library's large collection of digital resources, collaborating with campus networking staff and vendor/content providers' technical staff. Participation in the librarian liaison program is essential, as is the development and delivery of information literacy instruction sessions, workshops, and tutorials tailored for students and faculty. The librarian will work closely with faculty to integrate information literacy into the curriculum and create and maintain online guides, tutorials, and other instructional materials. Additionally, the Digital Services Librarian will provide reference services to students and faculty, lead the library's digital initiatives in collaboration with librarians, faculty, and university administration, and offer expertise in identifying, evaluating, and recommending new and emerging technologies that support the library's mission. They will also provide leadership and coordination for planning, implementing, and training for the adoption and integration of new technologies, participate in regional and/or national professional activities to advance the development of digital library resources, and maintain library technology services in collaboration with university IT. Serving on the campus-wide Technology Advisory Committee and other university ad hoc technology groups is also part of the role.
