About the position

This position is with HII's Cyber & Electronic Warfare business group, which is part of the Mission Technologies division. The candidate will play a crucial role in directing, managing, planning, and administrating a team that is responsible for developing tools and a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) framework aimed at accelerating the development, testing, and deployment of digital signal processing applications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate independent judgment, creativity in problem-solving, effective communication skills, and a proactive approach to technical decision-making to meet objectives. Collaboration with technical professionals in an agile environment is essential, as the candidate will be expected to work well within a team setting. The responsibilities include leading a team focused on creating, maintaining, and enhancing digital signal processing software, managing the development and implementation of a CI/CD framework, and collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to build automation tools. The candidate will also conduct architecture assessments, monitor project statuses, and present updates to key stakeholders. Additionally, the role involves evaluating new tools and technologies to improve the efficiency and scalability of the systems developed by the team. As a supervisory role, the candidate will manage team members, conduct personnel actions, and provide guidance on administrative policies and technical issues. They will also be responsible for preparing and conducting employee reviews, promoting employee development through career-planning sessions, and scheduling training opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team responsible for creating, maintaining, and augmenting digital signal processing software
  • Manage the development, management, and implementation of a CI/CD framework
  • Collaborate with teams across disciplines to build automation tools
  • Conduct architecture assessments and define solutions
  • Contribute to and/or lead teams and processes to achieve strategic goals
  • Monitor project status and take remedial action on projects behind schedule
  • Present status reports to key internal stakeholders
  • Evaluate new tools, technologies, and processes to improve speed, efficiency, and scalability of systems the team builds
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
  • Manage a team and direct work of staff, conducting appropriate personnel actions when necessary
  • Communicate and advise staff on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods and software change issues
  • Prepare and conduct employee reviews and monitor progress to satisfy employee management goals
  • Promote employee development by conducting career-planning sessions and scheduling employee training classes, conferences, and seminars

Requirements

  • 4 years relevant progressive experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 2 years relevant progressive experience with a Master's in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years relevant progressive experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degrees in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of development experience in a cloud or on-prem environment
  • 5+ years of experience in people management
  • 3+ years of experience building CI/CD pipelines and tooling development
  • Hands-on experience working in Agile and DevOps cultures, focusing on process improvement and automation
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter - takes the initiative to research, learn, and deliver
  • Team player - humble, collaborative, and focused on making sure the entire team succeeds
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with advanced security checks
  • Minimum Secret clearance is required to start

Nice-to-haves

  • 4+ years programming experience developing in C/C++ and Python
  • 4+ years of experience using DevOps and CI/CD processes and toolsets like GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Harness
  • Experience with containers like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience working in a cloud environment
