About the position

The Digital & Social Media Manager at the Heard Museum is responsible for enhancing the museum's online presence and connecting visitors with Indigenous creativity through engaging digital content. This role involves managing the museum's website, social media platforms, and digital signage, while collaborating with various departments to support museum initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a growth mindset and contribute significantly to the marketing team, ensuring a cohesive digital strategy that aligns with the museum's mission.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, update, and optimize the museum's website and app for functionality, experience, and accessibility.
• Develop, curate, and manage daily content across all museum's social media platforms.
• Oversee content creation and management of digital signage throughout the museum.
• Work closely with the Marketing Director to create cohesive, cross-platform digital strategies.
• Monitor user behaviors, engagement, and followers for marketing reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience managing websites, social media, and digital marketing, ideally in a museum, non-profit, or arts organization.
• Proficiency with website management tools (e.g., WordPress, or other CMS), Google Analytics, and SEO best practices.
• Experience with social media scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Later, Sprout Social).
• Strong image and photo editing skills (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) are a plus.

• Highly detailed, organized, with excellent writing and storytelling skills and an understanding of AP principles.
