About the position

MillerKnoll is seeking a Digital Software Engineer - Retail Systems to join their Digital Engineering and Platforms team. This role focuses on owning and supporting existing customizations, as well as scoping, designing, and developing new features within the retail systems environment, particularly in Order Management (OMS) and associated integrations. The position emphasizes collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance customer experience and ensure compliance with security standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with security audit tasks by providing reporting and necessary data.
  • Develop and integrate digital solutions to meet customer demand.
  • Design and build workflows within applications to enhance customer experience.
  • Maintain documentation for customizations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including code reviews and scrum meetings.
  • Verify and test system build deployments.
  • Partner with Product Managers and Business Analysts to review bugs/issues and design solutions.
  • Perform technical analysis, design, configuration, scripting, development, and implementation of system customizations.
  • Review escalated system issues from the Helpdesk team and propose solutions.
  • Manage systems administration including user setup and light configuration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' programming and/or customizing applications and platforms.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a dynamic retail environment and/or working with financial teams.
  • 3-5 years' development/customization of systems such as POS, WMS, OMS, and associated integrations.
  • Experience working in a SOX and PCI compliant organization.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban).
  • In-depth experience building and coding solutions around order allocation, invoicing, inventory movement, and warehouse processes.
  • Strong history of developing and consuming interfaces around retail concepts like transactions and inventory management.
  • Experience with developing integrations, API endpoint management, and programming against protocols/frameworks such as REST and OpenAPI.
  • Experience developing integrations into third-party services such as payment gateways and tax services.
  • Strong analysis skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with a Windows environment, HTML, JavaScript, XML, JSON, and SQL proficiency.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Salesforce API and APEX.
  • Familiarity with API management tools/frameworks such as Boomi, Mulesoft, and AWS API Gateway.
