About the position

The position involves leading the development of application and system roadmaps, guiding the transformation and modernization of applications. The role requires overseeing the architecture and design of critical Digital systems across various areas within AAA Club Alliance. The candidate will manage application solution designs that align with content and information management initiatives for both internal and external content distribution. Additionally, the role includes architecting, designing, and enhancing existing information layouts and displays in alignment with user experience (UX) trends and principles. Collaboration with business stakeholders and IT development teams is essential to create flexible, adaptable, modular, and reusable solution designs that align with enterprise architecture standards. The candidate will also support the definition of high-level operational models and prepare business cases, ensuring alignment with IT security and quality guidelines. The position requires upholding solution architecture governance processes and tools, prioritizing design patterns and technology standards, and taking accountability for the finalization, acceptance, and approval of solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of application and system roadmaps.
  • Oversee the architecture and design of critical Digital systems.
  • Manage application solution designs for content distribution.
  • Architect, design, and enhance information layouts and displays.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create modular and reusable solution designs.
  • Support the definition of operational models and prepare business cases.
  • Uphold solution architecture governance processes.
  • Take accountability for the finalization and approval of solutions.
  • Act as a catalyst for Agile and DevSecOps practices.
  • Explore and champion technology innovation.
  • Review high-level designs with technical leads and developers.
  • Identify technology risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Stay current on cutting-edge technologies.
  • Support the requirements gathering process.
  • Create comprehensive solution architecture specification documents.
  • Maintain a repository of architecture assets.
  • Serve as a liaison between business and IT teams.
  • Work closely with project managers to identify key design activities.
  • Support the infrastructure DevSecOps team by defining non-functional requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree (BA/BS) or equivalent in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Desirable to have completed Master degree or work in progress towards a graduate degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in a development environment focusing on Architecture, System Architecture, IT Operations, and System Development.
  • Knowledge of Database Architecture and Development Concepts.
  • Knowledge of architectural styles and design patterns.
  • Expertise in Cloud Computing.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development lifecycle processes.
  • Familiarity with Dev Ops and CI/CD Pipelines.
  • Experience with API design and development.
  • Professional Certification in at least one major development tool is required, with 3 or more preferred.
  • In-depth experience with design, development, testing, and administration of various types of systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong knowledge and experience with website development, design, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in development technologies, Java, .Net including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and CMS systems (Sitecore, AEM).
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Expert knowledge with data and/or business modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with website security best practices and techniques.
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Proficiency in working with databases and SQL.
  • Strong technical expertise in infrastructure, hardware, software, and systems.
  • Understanding of accessibility and SEO principles for websites.
  • Experience with website analytics tools, such as Google Analytics.
  • Ability to keep up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
