About the position

The Digital Solutions Engineer at Peerless Pump Company, a subsidiary of Grundfos, is responsible for providing training, installation, supervision, and support to enhance the Digital Services business. This role involves interfacing with third-party service providers, evaluating user issues, and collaborating with internal departments to ensure effective customer service. The position operates in a hybrid model from the Indianapolis facility and reports directly to the FireConnect Director.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with 3rd party service providers in activation, diagnostic, and end user installation support.
  • Evaluate end user escalation issues.
  • Liaise and collaborate with internal departments and suppliers to ensure product uptime and effective customer service support.
  • Develop and deliver training courses for end users, Authorized Service Providers, and internal service personnel.
  • Provide input on the development of digital service products, including product roadmap.
  • Assist Senior Digital Solutions Engineer in equipment testing including hardware, software, and communications.
  • Provide remote commissioning services, confirming proper installation and establishing cloud data flows.
  • Provide accurate and timely communication to internal and external customers.
  • Assist customers with product installation, product coordination, and other special-order handling.
  • Support internal personnel/application engineers with custom pricing as required.
  • Perform all work in compliance with company policies, procedures, legislation, regulations, and direction and identify non-compliance situations for resolution.
  • Comply with all health and safety initiatives to ensure the Company remains a safe workplace.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical role such as Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) or 4 years commensurate experience.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written); fluency in the local market language is required.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Tools, with preferred experience in Salesforce Sales Cloud & Service Cloud.
  • High interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a team in a diverse environment.
  • Stakeholder management and ability to engage with local colleagues to assist in solving customer problems.
  • Experience with digital, IoT, or a SaaS or services business.
  • Preferred extensive related-product and applications-specific knowledge (i.e. installation of system into existing infrastructure and systems; industry standards for pumps).
  • Ability to work with MODBUS and other communication protocols.
  • Ability to work with detailed specifications and industry standards.
  • Proficient at balancing a range of distinctive priorities while maintaining exactness in fulfilling customer specifications.
  • Ability to present a positive image to customers.
  • Understanding of related codes and standards including NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, UL508(A), NFPA20 & NFPA 25.
  • Knowledge of Programming and Troubleshooting of Control Systems including Design of Integrated Control Systems, Ladder Logic Programming, PLC Troubleshooting, Digital Signal Troubleshooting, Analog Signal Troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Data Communications: MODBUS RTU, MODBUS TCP/IP, Profibus, BACNet.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a similar role within the pump or industrial equipment industry.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based services and data analytics.
  • Experience in customer training and support roles.
