As a Digital Technical Product Management Intern, you will join a passionate team focused on shaping the future of USAA's digital products, including the mobile app and chat bot technologies. Under direct supervision, you will perform routine work assignments and problem resolution to support other team members. Your responsibilities will include empathizing with and understanding the unique needs of end-users, translating business goals into a clear product vision, and communicating direction and priorities to the development team and other stakeholders. You will also identify goals and metrics to determine product value, monitor research and the competitive landscape, and collaborate with design partners and development teams to ensure smooth delivery and execution of product plans.

Responsibilities

  • Empathize with and deeply understand the unique needs of end-users to determine the fastest path to deliver value.
  • Translate business goals and end-user needs into a clear product vision, communicating direction and priorities to the development team, other matrixed teams, and third-party partners.
  • Identify goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value; continually make recommendations and refine the product backlog based on findings.
  • Monitor research and the competitive landscape to recommend the best solutions and ensure that products remain or become best in class.
  • Ensure that product directions balance user needs and business goals of driving new products, improving efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Work with design partners to formulate, test, and refine assumptions and hypotheses through user research.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth delivery and execution of product plans.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university, with a graduation date after the final day of the internship.
  • Strong analytical skills and a passion for user-centric product design.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A proactive attitude with a desire to learn and take on new challenges.

Nice-to-haves

  • Pursuing a degree with a concentration in Management Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Graduation date between August 2025 and July 2026.
  • Previous internships or project experience in coding languages.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • First-hand knowledge of the military community.
