About the position

Arcfield is seeking a Digital Twin Front End Developer to create advanced multimodal user interfaces and visualizations for earth observation and scientific data. This role involves developing front-end digital twin interfaces that facilitate two-way interactions with satellite data and environments, contributing to an agile team focused on delivering state-of-the-art visualizations and user experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop front-end digital twin user interface and visualization of earth observation data and scientific analysis information.
  • Implement two-way interaction with digital twins of satellites and space environments.
  • Deliver relevant information in an efficient and clean interface quickly.
  • Collaborate within an agile team to deliver visualizations and UI for satellite observations and geospatial data.
  • Provide expertise in advanced 3D visualization technologies and techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or technical school degree in a related field with 8-10 years of experience, or a Master's with 6-8 years of experience, or a Ph.D. with 3-5 years of experience.
  • Development experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript/TypeScript/ReactJS.
  • Experience in real-time 3D visualization.
  • Ability to create clean, minimal, and efficient interfaces.
  • Demonstrate initiative in performing job tasks and exhibit problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and other web services.
  • Experience deploying to containerized microservices using docker/podman/apptainer in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with state management frameworks such as Redux, Redux-saga, or Apollo.
  • Familiarity with bundlers such as webpack and vite.
  • Experience wireframing or creating 3D mock-ups.
  • Experience with WebGL/openGL & GLSL.
  • Experience with geospatial software packages and databases such as QGIS, ArcGIS, PostGIS.
  • Experience with CesiumJS or other web visualization tools.
  • Experience in developing with Unity, Unreal, or other real-time visualization engines.
  • Knowledge of GIS and science data formats (NetCDF, HDF5, GeoJSON).
