About the position

The Dining Floor Manager at Horse & Plow is responsible for overseeing daily front of house operations, ensuring high-quality guest experiences, and managing the performance of front of house staff. This role includes filling in as the Restaurant Manager when needed and collaborating with the Restaurant Manager to meet financial targets for sales, profits, and expenses.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach all Dining Supervisors and front of house staff.
• Establish quality standards for all job functions and execute training certification processes.
• Schedule staff according to service standards and volume expectations.
• Maintain appropriate inventories and controls in all areas.
• Interview and hire new associates.
• Order and distribute employee uniforms, ensuring adherence to uniform policy.
• Ensure positive guest service and respond to complaints effectively.
• Control labor costs and food costs, managing food waste.
• Utilize InfoGenesis for cash control and accurate reporting of charges.
• Complete financial and personnel/payroll administrative duties accurately and on time.
• Create a positive work environment and foster a culture of creativity and innovation.
• Train and develop associates, providing ongoing feedback and conducting performance reviews.

Requirements

• Minimum of a two-year degree preferred.
• 4+ years of relevant experience required.
• Relevant coursework in Responsible Beverage, Sanitation, Supervision, and Teamwork.
• Food Manager Certification required or completion within six months of employment.
