About the position

The Dining, Residence, and Sustainability Coordinator at The Ohio State University is responsible for coordinating dining hall operations and housekeeping for residence halls. This role involves hands-on duties related to food preparation, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness, while also providing exceptional customer service to a diverse population. The position is seasonal, lasting from late spring to late summer, and is located at Put-In-Bay, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Assist with and coordinate all aspects of dining hall operations and housekeeping for residence halls.
• Perform menu and food preparation for groups of up to 100 individuals.
• Manage food inventory and adhere to food handling and safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dining hall and residence halls, including sweeping, dusting, and cleaning restrooms.
• Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, researchers, staff, and visitors.
• Attend and participate in meetings as needed.
• Provide updates and reports to the Dining & Residence Lead and others.
• Identify and communicate issues related to dining and residence hall operations.

Requirements

• High School diploma
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work with a diverse population and as a team
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and some holidays
• Valid driver's license
• Successful completion of a background check.

Nice-to-haves

• 0-2 years of relevant experience in the food industry, food handling, special events, and/or hospitality services
• Experience with dining and residence hall protocols
• Knowledge of the Put-In-Bay and Lake Erie area
• Ability to lift 30lbs.
