About The Position

The Dining Room Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that meals are served promptly and courteously in a clean and attractive dining environment. This role involves supervising dining staff, maintaining dining room standards, and providing excellent customer service to residents and guests.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must wear proper water and oil resistant black shoes.
  • Meets state certification requirements as applicable for the position.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and be a positive team player.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional approach with coworkers, residents, and guests.
  • Ability to keep all business and operations information confidential.
  • Possess excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and meet department deadlines.
  • Ability to follow and adhere to policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in hiring, supervising, evaluating, counseling, and if necessary, terminating servers in conjunction with the Executive Chef.
  • Educate and train servers according to Sunshine Retirement Living Food Services Guidelines.
  • Complete schedules for servers and make alterations as necessary.
  • Obtain replacement servers in case of absences.
  • Ensure the menu board is correct.
  • Maintain a clean and attractive dining room with proper table arrangements and decorations.
  • Greet residents and visitors at tables during meals and converse as appropriate.
  • Pour coffee and other beverages during meals.
  • Ensure meals are served politely, promptly, and efficiently.
  • Ensure resident satisfaction during meals.
  • Bus the dining room promptly and efficiently after meals.
  • Deliver apartment meal trays politely, promptly, and efficiently.
  • Assist with food services for special functions as directed by the Community Executive Chef.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
