About the position

The Dining Server at Harmony at Southridge is responsible for providing courteous meal service to residents and guests, ensuring a clean and welcoming dining environment. This role involves understanding dining room procedures, assisting residents with menu selections, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area and kitchen. The position requires attention to detail and a commitment to serving the needs of residents, including those with special requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a courteous manner.
• Clean and reset the dining room after meal service.
• Maintain knowledge of dining room and kitchen responsibilities and procedures.
• Operate basic kitchen equipment such as food processors and dishwashers.
• Ensure a clean work area in the kitchen and dining room.
• Assist residents with menu orders and provide beverage service.
• Refill condiments and report broken equipment to supervisors.
• Understand proper table settings and serving techniques.
• Assist with food preparation and proper food storage techniques.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum the kitchen and dining room as needed.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
• Complete all other assigned duties and assist with tray service.
• Interact politely with residents, guests, co-workers, and supervisors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must maintain a clean designated uniform and good personal hygiene.
• Ability to read and follow simple instructions.
• Ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks.
• Quick learner with the ability to apply learned principles.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work under close supervision.
• Physical ability to bend, reach, grasp, push, and pull objects.
• Ability to stand and walk for sustained periods up to three hours.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and carry heavy objects for 20 feet.
• Organized and willing to work well with team members.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
