About the position

Williamsville Suburban Nursing Home is seeking resident-focused Dining Services Aides to join our culinary staff. The role involves providing timely service to meet the needs of residents in our long-term skilled nursing facility. Dietary Aides perform various food service functions, ensuring the highest quality of service in an attentive and responsive atmosphere that recognizes the individual needs and rights of our patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Handles food and equipment according to sanitation policies and procedures.
• Observes proper food handling techniques.
• Ensures proper setup of food for tray line and/or dining rooms.
• Delivers and retrieves food carts to and from client's area.
• Sets up trays for meals/works tray line position.
• Processes soiled trays, dishes and utensils from carts through dishwasher.
• Assists in the serving of food.
• Prepares snacks and beverages from between-meal service to patients.
• Prepares nutritional supplements and tube feeding products and delivers to customer areas.
• Washes pots, pans and other equipment as necessary.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation through entire work areas.
• Performs daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures; scrubs and mops floors, cleans and sanitizes equipment.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by the Food Service Director.
• Participates in all in-services and activities as required.
• Maintains the confidentiality of all protected health information whether electronic, written, or oral exposed to either during the course of assigned duties or as a result of an incidental disclosure.

Requirements

• Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to long-term care dietary requirements.
• Dependability and punctuality in attendance.
• Ability to follow written and oral directions.
• Ability to work independently.
• Effective communication skills to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, and visitors.
