About the position

The Dining Services Associate at Villanova University is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety within the dining operations. This part-time role involves working collaboratively with management and co-workers to uphold the university's mission and core values, focusing on safety, sanitation, and excellence in service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall cleanliness and sanitation of dining operations.
• Scrape, clean, sanitize, and replenish dishes, silverware, and cooking equipment.
• Operate dish and pot machines, ensuring proper temperatures and chemical levels are recorded.
• Dispose of food waste and trash in both front and back of house areas.
• Sweep and mop floors, including walk-in refrigerators.
• Assist in receiving, storing, and transporting food and non-food items.
• Fill juices, milk, and soda machines as needed.
• Assist on serving lines and with back of house prep work when required.
• Communicate with cooks regarding food amounts on service lines.
• Work special events and weekends as required.

Requirements

• Basic reading and writing skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to follow directions and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Ability to interact with people on a constant basis.

Nice-to-haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of food service safety and sanitation.
