The Dining Services Director 1 is responsible for directing and coordinating all food service activities within the community. This role involves supervising, training, and coordinating the activities of kitchen associates who are engaged in purchasing and preparing food and supplies. The Dining Services Director 1 works closely with the Executive Director to ensure that all associates in the Dining department are managed in accordance with Wickshire Senior Living's policies and applicable laws. This includes a range of responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, and training associates, planning and assigning work, appraising performance, and addressing any complaints or issues that arise. In addition to personnel management, the Dining Services Director 1 must ensure compliance with state regulations governing Assisted Living. This includes becoming familiar with these regulations and regularly reviewing a compliance checklist. The role also requires ensuring that menus meet nutritional expectations and comply with government regulations, which involves consulting with a dietician for any major menu changes. The Director will review resident diet information and address any requests or inconsistencies with residents or their representatives. The position also entails inspecting food preparation and storage areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with sanitation guidelines. The Director is responsible for maintaining food quality, ensuring that meals are served at the correct temperatures, and that they are served on time. Additionally, the Director will manage purchasing practices to ensure that food and supplies are acquired at the lowest possible cost while maintaining quality standards. This includes conducting monthly food inventories, processing invoices, and preparing work schedules for kitchen personnel. The Dining Services Director 1 will also oversee the training of associates on the use of kitchen equipment and ensure that all safety and sanitation protocols are followed. The role requires creating positive associate relations through recognition programs and regular feedback. The Director will participate in community business activities, including driving for sales calls and attending industry meetings. Finally, the Director must maintain confidentiality and complete all mandatory compliance training as required.
