About the position

The Dining Services Director is responsible for overseeing all food service operations within the community, ensuring high-quality nutrition and dining experiences for residents. This role involves managing food preparation, dining room operations, and delivery services while adhering to safety and sanitation regulations. The director will also be involved in budgeting, staff management, and planning engaging dining events to enhance resident satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Direct food service operations including food preparation, dining room operations, and delivery services.
• Purchase food and manage inventory to ensure effective cost controls and vendor service quality.
• Ensure high nutrition and food quality for residents while complying with regulations.
• Plan and execute entertaining dining events in collaboration with other administrative staff.
• Hire, train, and manage supervisory staff for kitchen and dining services.
• Consult with chefs to develop nutritious menus based on resident preferences.
• Develop department budget and monitor compliance to maintain operational quality.
• Encourage socialization through food presentation and events.
• Network with Regional Food Service Directors to improve operations.

Requirements

• College degree in food service or hospitality management preferred.
• Minimum of eight years of progressive experience in the food service industry, including three years in a supervisory role.
• Current ServSafe Certification required.
• Ability to manage a large number of associates directly and through supervisors.
