About The Position

The Dining Services Director at Augustine Landing is responsible for overseeing all aspects of dining services, ensuring quality food service while adhering to regulatory requirements and budget constraints. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with specialized training in food service.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Continued education in food service preferred, including RD, CDM, or Culinary Degree.
  • Serv-Safe Certification Class.
  • Minimum of two years experience in food service management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Must be free from communicable disease.
  • Completion of drug testing and criminal background check upon hire and upon request.
  • Ability to cook and follow standard recipes.
  • Physical ability to bend, stand, lift, stoop, sit, stretch, carry, and walk; able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to peel, cut, and prepare various types of food.
  • Ability to work with kitchen machinery.
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback regarding meal quality.
  • Ability to relate to residents and associates in a courteous and diplomatic manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in record keeping and menu planning.
  • Familiarity with restaurant or cafeteria-style organization regarding food preparation and service, purchasing, staff scheduling, food, and labor cost control.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of dining services and supervise dietary associates.
  • Plan menus using the Grove Menu system.
  • Purchase foods and supplies; manage inventory and storage of incoming food and supplies.
  • Print production sheets and prepare recipes for the cook team.
  • Prepare meals according to planned menus, including special diet requirements.
  • Follow standardized recipes and special diet orders.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary dietary department.
  • Direct and instruct dietary personnel and assist with daily cleaning duties.
  • Serve food according to portion control guidelines.
  • Schedule hours and assign duties to dietary associates.
  • Check food and supplies for upcoming meals.
  • Participate in special events planning and preparation.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and reorder supplies as needed.
  • Participate in required meetings, training, and associate programs.
  • May be required to participate in weekend Manager on Duty (MOD) duties.
