About the position

The Director of Clinical Operations (DCO) at Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center (VBPC) is responsible for executing operational initiatives and objectives to achieve organizational goals. This role involves planning, implementing, and assessing high-priority activities as identified by the CEO and organizational leadership. The DCO will work collaboratively with VBPC leadership and departments to drive continuous operational improvement across various domains of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Execute operational initiatives and objectives to achieve organizational goals.
• Plan, implement, and assess high-priority activities as identified by the CEO.
• Direct day-to-day operations of assigned initiatives and coordinate necessary meetings.
• Manage coordination efforts between support departments within the organization.
• Ensure quality assurance in service delivery, including clinical care and documentation.
• Provide training and education to staff to improve patient care quality.
• Support the CEO and leadership in meeting divisional goals related to safety, quality, and performance improvement.
• Meet financial objectives through the implementation of efficient practices.
• Coordinate with leadership to assess and assist in transformational initiatives within operations.
• Assist the CEO with special projects and duties to optimize hospital needs.
• Establish and maintain policies and procedures related to key initiatives and projects led by the DCO.
• Monitor the impact of changes for strategic initiatives through data and feedback.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a mental health discipline preferred; Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience accepted.
• At least five years of professional experience in mental health or human services.
• Strong technical, business, and managerial skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
