About the position

The Director of Digital Media and Strategy is responsible for overseeing all digital media and advertising-related marketing activities. This includes the creation, optimization, and execution of a comprehensive media measurement strategy. The role focuses on delivering effective digital media strategies, managing a substantial advertising budget, and leading a team to optimize performance and achieve business results.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive paid digital marketing strategies across various channels, including search, display, video, social media, and programmatic advertising.
  • Maximize return on a $40M annual digital advertising budget.
  • Own the holistic search marketing function, balancing paid and organic search to deliver business results.
  • Optimize campaigns to maximize incremental volume and achieve targeted cost per conversion metrics.
  • Continuously refine the media mix based on historical performance data, market conditions, and consumer behaviors.
  • Use data and insights for informed budget allocation decisions across digital platforms.
  • Utilize Media Mix Modeling (MMM) and performance analytics to optimize media across channels.
  • Develop and implement a 'test and learn' framework for experimenting with new platforms and strategies.
  • Leverage findings from experiments to drive continuous improvement in media strategies.
  • Partner with the Brand team to test new creative across platforms and provide feedback on advertising effectiveness.
  • Oversee accounting and accrual of the holistic media budget, collaborating with Finance for timely month-end closes and forecasts.
  • Ensure timely and relevant reporting to agency and internal partners, delivering actionable insights.
  • Oversee, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of media and content specialists.
  • Work cross-functionally with various teams to create and optimize integrated campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Finance, or a related Business degree.
  • 10 - 15+ years' experience in marketing, specifically in developing paid media strategy and digital advertising.
  • 10 - 15+ years' experience in project and/or account management and managing in-house and outsourced teams.
  • Deep experience with Excel, Google Analytics, online media platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, YouTube Ads, The Trade Desk), and media measurement models (MMMs and incrementality testing methodologies).
  • Expertise in analyzing large volumes of data and making key business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Agency management experience is extremely helpful.
  • Possess math skills sufficient to perform required duties.
