About the position

The Director, Field Sales at Holland America Line is responsible for leading a team of business development managers and representatives to achieve and exceed sales targets exceeding $100 million in net ticket revenue. This hybrid role involves developing and executing regional strategies, fostering partnerships with core agencies, and inspiring team members to excel in their sales missions. The position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to build long-term relationships within the travel industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of five Business Development Managers and three Business Development Representatives in the Western Region.
  • Ensure annual sales objectives are met and exceed account performance for assigned accounts.
  • Develop sales professionals through performance management and ongoing coaching and mentoring.
  • Lead all sales development functions for Western region accounts, including large consortia organizations and networks.
  • Develop marketing strategies and tactics with each assigned account to achieve desired volume levels, yield, and ROI.
  • Collaborate with National Accounts and Revenue Management to implement account-specific strategies that meet revenue goals.
  • Maintain exceptional partnerships with all accounts through regular interaction and quarterly sales calls.
  • Drive a territory optimization strategy for effective engagement with a large account base.
  • Oversee the budget for the direct fields department, driving $100 million in net ticket revenue.
  • Provide brand and sales leadership visibility at high-profile industry events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in related roles.
  • Strong command of Holland America Line and Seabourn products.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to travel frequently to assigned accounts within territories.
  • Energetic self-starter with business acumen and a track record of delivering results.
  • Excellent communication and team player skills.
