About the position

The Director of Legal Counsel-Operations at Spectrum is responsible for providing legal advice and guidance to the organization, particularly in relation to commercial and government sales contracts. This role involves negotiating contracts, advising internal stakeholders, managing legal risks, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. The position requires collaboration with various teams to navigate complex legal issues and support the company's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate commercial and government sales contracts.
• Provide legal counsel and guidance to internal management.
• Draft and revise contract templates and other legal documents.
• Research and analyze relevant statutes, regulations, and case law.
• Manage outside counsel on customer-related legal issues.
• Support and guide contract managers within the legal team.
• Perform other legal duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant work experience, preferably with a large law firm and/or in-house work.
• Juris Doctor degree from a top-tier law school.
• Active State Bar Membership in good standing.
• Proactive with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team setting.
• Elevated leadership skills and strong attention to detail.
• Extensive experience with complex commercial negotiations.
• Knowledge of counseling a sales organization on demanding timelines.
• Effective communication skills with various deal participants.
