About the position

The Marketing Technology Transformation Leader at PayPal is responsible for driving the implementation and optimization of transformative marketing technology initiatives. This role serves as a bridge between marketing and IT teams, focusing on leveraging AI and automation to enhance data-driven strategies and marketing operations. The leader will spearhead the evolution of the MarTech/AdTech ecosystem, collaborating closely with various teams to implement and optimize marketing technologies, while championing the adoption of innovative tools to maximize investment and accelerate outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the implementation and optimization of transformative marketing technology initiatives.
  • Bridge marketing and IT teams to enhance data-driven strategies and marketing operations.
  • Spearhead the evolution of the MarTech/AdTech ecosystem from its current to target state.
  • Collaborate with marketing and IT teams to implement, integrate, and optimize marketing technologies.
  • Champion the adoption of AI and automation tools to maximize investment and accelerate outcomes.
  • Identify emerging technologies and trends in the MarTech/AdTech space and oversee pilot programs.
  • Analyze results to scale successful innovations across the organization.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in large MarTech ecosystems and customer data platforms.
  • Build an actionable, cross-functional roadmap for execution with marketing, IT, and product organizations.
  • Define requirements for next-gen tech stack to enable personalization and real-time marketing.
  • Analyze and optimize marketing processes and workflows to leverage technology capabilities effectively.
  • Develop and execute change management plans for the successful adoption of new marketing technologies.
  • Provide training and support to marketing teams to enhance technology proficiency and data-driven decision-making.
  • Regularly assess new MarTech/AdTech solutions and design proof-of-concept projects.
  • Oversee marketing technology initiatives ensuring adherence to established processes and protocols.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, computer science, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in marketing operations, marketing technology implementation, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Proven experience in deploying Marketing Technology programs that transform marketing execution and measurement.
  • Strong understanding of marketing technologies, platforms, and data management practices.
  • 10+ years of relevant Marketing Technology experience, including Adobe and Salesforce.
  • Project management skills and experience in executing cross-functional technology initiatives.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, process mapping, and process optimization techniques.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical proficiency with Adobe, CMS, DAM platforms, and other marketing technology.
  • Strong analytical skills for data and metrics analysis.
  • Financial acumen related to the payments industry and ROI.
