About the position

The Director of Supply Chain at Sabre Industries is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing the sourcing and optimization of the business unit's supply chain network. This role encompasses direct responsibility for the effective and efficient sourcing of products across all producing facilities, both internal and external. The Director will manage product accountability, coordinate optimization plans, and execute activities within the network while collaborating cross-functionally with other business leaders to ensure that the business unit achieves its expected results. In this position, the Director will ensure that the right team is in place to meet daily operational needs and long-term goals for improving efficiency and effectiveness within the supply chain. A key focus will be on developing a culture that prioritizes safety, drives engagement at all levels, and embraces diversity, inclusion, and belonging. The Director will lead the synchronization of the supply chain network, ensuring a worry-free supply through effective coordination of manufacturing scheduling, distribution flow, transportation scheduling, and sales flow expectations. The role also involves managing the sourcing of products for the facility, which includes overseeing sourcing systems activity, inventory ordering, and management. The Director will partner with manufacturing, finance, and sales teams to determine optimal sourcing strategies that achieve the Lowest Landed Cost (LLC) within the business unit. Additionally, the Director will lead the supply chain service and sourcing optimization team, focusing on standardizing and optimizing processes, selecting a Warehouse Management System (WMS), and driving product accountability initiatives across the business. The Director will be responsible for driving On-Time-In-Full performance by developing annual plans to increase efficiency and ensuring accountability within the team. This includes monitoring performance metrics related to cost and service levels, executing company initiatives, and taking on special projects as assigned. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and people skills, project management capabilities, and a strong analytical background in problem-solving, with a focus on continuous improvement and lean practices.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, coordinate, and manage sourcing and optimization for the business unit supply chain network.
  • Ensure the right team is in place to meet daily operational needs and long-term efficiency goals.
  • Develop a culture in Supply Chain that prioritizes safety, engagement, and diversity.
  • Lead synchronization of the supply chain network for effective coordination of manufacturing, distribution, transportation, and sales flow.
  • Manage effective sourcing of products, including inventory ordering and management.
  • Partner with manufacturing, finance, and sales teams to determine optimal sourcing strategies for Lowest Landed Cost (LLC).
  • Lead the supply chain service and sourcing optimization team in Supply Chain Excellence.
  • Focus on standardizing and optimizing processes within the supply chain.
  • Select and roll out a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for effective application and performance.
  • Drive product accountability initiatives and ensure visibility and actions for improvement.
  • Develop annual plans for On-Time-In-Full performance and monitor actual results for adjustments.
  • Instill a culture of Lean practices and Continuous Improvement to eliminate non-value adding activities.
  • Monitor and report performance metrics related to cost and service levels, making necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure effective execution of company initiatives, including new distribution methods and seasonal requirements.
  • Take on special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a technical field.
  • 10 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain functions, with at least 4 years in a management position.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills in strategy, communication, and execution.
  • Project management skills with the ability to convey information concisely.
  • Progressive software skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Strong analytical background in problem-solving, including mathematical and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and thrive in high-intensity situations.
  • Cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence others towards a shared vision.

  • Experience in the Enclosures or Energy Storage industry.
