About the position
The Direct Care Professional (DCP) role at Fordham-Lewis Consulting, LLC involves providing essential support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential group home setting. DCPs engage participants in meaningful activities, assist with daily living tasks, and help implement service plans to enhance the quality of life for residents. This position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities with flexible scheduling, including overnight and weekend shifts.
Responsibilities
- Teach, monitor, engage, and assist in all activities including activities of daily living and social interactions.
- Implement methods and techniques to assist participants in attaining service plan objectives.
- Complete daily logs and written reports in electronic records system.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Home Health Aide certificate.
- 18 years or older.
- Valid NJ driver's license with 4 or less points and excellent driving record.
- Computer skills.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in caregiving for at least 1 year.
