About the position

As a Caregiver / Direct Support Professional at Sevita, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position focuses on helping participants grow, learn, and live fulfilling lives through meaningful relationships and community involvement. You will be entrusted with the responsibility of assisting individuals with their personal hygiene and developmental goals, while also providing support for those with behavioral challenges.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals grow, learn, and live well through supportive care.
• Expand knowledge of psychology by assisting individuals with disabilities, autism, and mental health challenges.
• Develop meaningful relationships with the individuals served.
• Encourage community participation and assist with favorite activities.
• Support participants in achieving developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.
• Assist individuals with personal hygiene and manage behavioral challenges.

Requirements

• No High School Diploma required.
• No prior experience necessary.
• Skills in communication, adaptability, multi-tasking, teamwork, and time management are essential.
• Behaviors such as patience, compassion, reliability, and responsibility are important.
• Valid Driver's license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance required for day and evening shifts.
