About the position

The Direct Care Worker/Facility Manager at Brighter Horizon Treatment Center is responsible for the daily care and supervision of youth in the Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP). This role involves providing a safe and supportive environment, implementing treatment plans, and engaging in various activities to promote the well-being and development of the youth.

Responsibilities

• Provides care, supervision, observation, and protection of youth in a trauma-informed system.
• Administers discipline and sets limits for behavior.
• Supervises and participates in planned or directed activities.
• Participates in group counseling, treatment planning sessions, and in-service training.
• Helps implement resident treatment plans and directed activities.
• Instructs youth in self-maintenance and life skills.
• Helps youth develop interpersonal and communication skills.
• Inventories resident's clothes, household linen, and other supplies as needed.
• Responsible for menu planning and assisting with food preparation.
• Supervises residents during food preparation and cooking activities.
• Writes daily log narratives on youth and various reports as required.
• Acts as a liaison to youths' authorized representatives and community personnel as needed.
• Transports youth to medical/dental appointments and other activities as required.
• Dispenses medication and performs minor first aid as needed.
• Responsible for youths' clothing needs and supervision of laundry tasks.
• Plans and leads recreational activities and instructs children in games.
• Disciplines children and recommends measures to control behavior.
• Counsels or provides therapeutic services to mentally disturbed, delinquent, or disabled children.
• Submits daily youth counts and required documentation to regulatory agencies.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience working with SED youth in a residential setting is required.
• Valid First Aid Certification is required.
• Ability to commute to Clovis, CA 93619 is required.
• Ability to relocate to Clovis, CA 93619 before starting work is required.
