About the position

The Automation Engineer position is focused on the design, programming, and implementation of industrial process control systems within a regulated industry. The role requires hands-on experience with AVEVA PI Asset Frameworks and PI Vision displays, as well as a strong understanding of PLCs, SCADA/HMI systems, and communication protocols. The engineer will work onsite in Marlborough, MA, and will be responsible for developing configurations, generating documentation, and troubleshooting issues related to test failures.

Responsibilities

• Develop configurations of AVEVA PI Asset Framework and PI Vision displays for specified equipment
• Generate related documentation such as functional design specifications, configuration specifications, verification test protocols, etc.
• Perform engineering tests and test protocol shakedown
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to test failures and generate potential solutions

Requirements

• 8 years or more of experience in automation engineering
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in electrical or chemical engineering, or related STEM Major
• Hands-on experience with design, programming, and implementation of industrial process control systems in a regulated industry
• Proficient with configuration and testing AVEVA PI Asset Frameworks and PI Vision displays
• In-depth understanding of control system architecture that includes PLCs, SCADA/HMI systems, and communication protocols (OPC, Ethernet/IP, etc.)
• Verification test planning and execution
• Excellent cross-functional teamwork, coordination, and communication skills
