About the position

The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating detailed documentation and work plans for various phases of the systems development life cycle, particularly in the context of CICS/DB2/COBOL/SAS/JCL Mainframe Systems. This role requires excellent communication skills and extensive experience in technical writing, documentation, and collaboration with business customers to document requirements and design deliverables. The position is remote, but candidates must be located within the United States and may need to report in person as required.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed work plans using automated tools.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for application development and support.
  • Collaborate with business customers to document requirements, analysis, and design deliverables.
  • Complete unit/development testing, systems testing, and support user acceptance testing.
  • Utilize various tools for software management activities, including Changeman and Cherwell.

Requirements

  • 15 years of experience with creation of detailed workplans using automated tools.
  • 15 years of excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • 12 years of experience in technical writing and documentation.
  • 8 years of experience in application development and support for CICS/DB2/COBOL/SAS/JCL Mainframe Systems.
  • 15 years of experience with MS products (Excel, Outlook, Project, Word).
  • 8 years of experience in financial and case management child support enforcement systems development and maintenance.
  • 15 years of experience completing unit/development testing, systems testing, and supporting user acceptance testing.
  • 10 years of experience using SQL, SPUFI, Platinum, File Manager, Debugger, QMF Tools or equivalent.
  • 15 years of experience working with business customers to document requirements, analysis, and design deliverables.
  • 10 years of experience using tracking mechanisms like Changeman, CNTL-M, or Cherwell.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 years of knowledge and experience with child support system certification.
  • 2 years of experience executing and documenting the Test Deck for IV-D system Certification.
