About the position

The Direct Operations Case Coordinator at ICF is responsible for leading a team of Case Coordinators who work directly with care provider staff and federal staff to ensure the safe and timely release of unaccompanied children in ORR custody. This role involves developing and maintaining a national case coordination program that provides child welfare-based recommendations, particularly for children with special needs. The coordinator will oversee case management operations, ensuring compliance with program policies while fostering positive relationships with clients and colleagues. The position requires both onsite and remote work, with regular visits to care provider sites and some travel requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate Case Coordinator coverage at all provider sites within the assigned geographical area.
  • Provide supervision and operational oversight of the assigned Case Coordinator team.
  • Offer guidance and technical assistance related to Case Coordinator duties, ensuring compliance with program policies and high standards of care.
  • Conduct regular site visits at provider sites for oversight purposes.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for government and care provider staff at assigned care provider sites.
  • Elevate individual case issues to ORR staff related to clinical, safety, and well-being concerns.
  • Address operational concerns to ICF project leadership.
  • Perform other duties related to case coordination goals for unaccompanied children's safe and timely release.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work or a related social science discipline and 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, or a non-qualifying bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience.
  • 1+ year of experience working with immigrant youth and families.
  • 1+ year of supervisory experience.
  • 1+ year of experience in reviewing case files and assessing/documenting information from various sources.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to secure Tier 2 Security Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of migrant/refugee issues related to unaccompanied children and sponsor families.
  • 3+ years of experience working with immigrant youth and families.
  • Education or experience in race equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies in human services.
  • Experience working for a refugee program.
  • Experience in mental/behavioral health for children or juvenile justice programs.
  • Prior work experience in a consulting environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
