About the position

ICF is seeking Direct Operations Case Coordinators to lead a team of Case Coordinators in collaboration with ORR care provider staff and federal staff. The role focuses on making recommendations for the release and transfer of unaccompanied children, ensuring their best interests are prioritized. The position involves developing a national case coordination program that emphasizes safe and timely release, identification of special needs, and appropriate placement recommendations. The Direct Operations Case Coordinator will support the team in maintaining transparency and respect for the children and families served within the ORR system.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate Case Coordinator coverage at all provider sites within the assigned geographical area.
  • Provide supervision and operational oversight of the assigned Case Coordinator team.
  • Offer guidance and technical assistance related to Case Coordinator duties, ensuring compliance with program policies and high standards of care.
  • Conduct regular site visits at provider sites for oversight of Case Coordinators.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for government and care provider staff at care provider sites.
  • Elevate individual case issues to ORR staff regarding clinical, safety, and well-being concerns.
  • Address operational concerns to ICF project leadership.
  • Perform other duties related to case coordination goals for unaccompanied children's safe and timely release.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work or a related social science discipline and 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, or a non-qualifying bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience.
  • 1+ year of experience working with immigrant youth and families.
  • 1+ year of supervisory experience.
  • 1+ year of experience reviewing case files and assessing/documenting information from various sources.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Tier 2 Security Clearance or ability to secure such clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of migrant/refugee issues related to unaccompanied children and sponsor families.
  • 3+ years of experience working with immigrant youth and families.
  • Education and/or experience in race equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies in human services.
  • Working knowledge of challenges related to unaccompanied children's placement and release.
  • Experience working for a refugee program.
  • Experience in mental/behavioral health for children or juvenile justice programs.
  • Prior work experience in a consulting environment.
  • Experience using MS Office suite.
